Parents' Information

Orchestra

Children who are able to read music and have some instrumental experience are encouraged to join the school orchestra as soon as possible, with ensemble groups rehearsing during the school day. All instrumentalists have an important part to play in school assemblies, concerts, and at the annual Carol Service. The orchestra grows considerably in size for the Carol Service, when parents and ex-pupils are invited to join.

The school orchestra, groups and choirs also take part in annual events such as the Borough Singing Festival and the Instrumental Event. Termly visits are arranged to hear the London Symphony Orchestra at children’s concerts at the Barbican.

Details of music tuition available at the school, run by The Richmond Music Trust, can found on the Richmond Music Trust section of this website.
