Stanley Juniors are committed to being as sustainable as possible in all aspects of school life. We feel strongly that as a School, we should be setting good examples to both the children and our local community. Pupils are at the forefront of all our initiatives and are encouraged to be as actively involved as possible, as it is their future we must think about.
Stanley Juniors are very proud of their 24 electricity-generating solar panels which were installed in October 2006. We are also very proud of our commitment to energy conservation, with The Green Team responsible for turning off lights and computers at break and lunch times. Find out more…..
Our dedicated Environmental Garden and Pond provide wonderful outdoor learning opportunities for the pupils. All classes are given the opportunity to work on the five allotment beds throughout the year, and help produce organically grown food which we sell and use in our school kitchens. The Environmental Garden, with its flourishing native hedgerow, wild meadow area, willow tunnel and bird boxes is an inspiring place be! Find out more….
The School has developed extensive recycling facilities to include paper, cardboard, tins and cans, plastic bottles and clothing.
