With the construction of the Multi-Use Game Areas and the Football Foundation pavilion and pitch the governors were able to realise the long held aim of making Stanley Junior School a community facility, a resource that is used by the local community after school hours, at weekends and throughout the holidays.
The school provides sports facilities for a wide range of clubs which in turn provide access to high quality coaching and the opportunity to take part in competitive leagues for children at the Stanley Schools and other neighbourhood schools. The ‘unique’ learner swimming pool continues to be a safe environment for hundreds of younger children.
The school’s halls and classroom are available for a variety of community groups from the well attended Richmond Avicenna School, providing Farsi, Dari and Pashto classes, to Ballroom Dancing lessons and Rosemary Conley slimming classes.
